The Bookmark has Reopened!

Dear Friends,

We are thrilled to announce that our "soft opening" on Saturday, June 15 was a great success! There were a lot of enthusiastic customers waiting outside when the store reopened for business at 11am. The store was bustling the entire day with long-time customers and many new faces there to welcome us to Broadway.

If you haven't been by yet, the new store is a delight - larger, more open, and with much better natural light than our old space. We still have plenty of work to do at the store - unpacking, organizing, replacing temporary signage with permanent signage, building a cash wrap, etc. - so rest assured that what we have now is just the beginning! While we continue to work in the background, we are proud to have reached one of many milestones with this project - to be able to open the doors and welcome you back!

This week, the store will resume regular store hours:

• Wednesday - Friday, 11am - 4pm

• Saturday and Sunday, 11am - 5pm

Please note that while we may have to close the store here and there as we continue to build out the space, we will communicate widely before doing so.

Lastly, we want to take a moment to send a special thank you for the incredible support from our Friends of the OPL Board volunteers, community volunteers, store co-managers, and our customers. Your time, consideration, and commitment to our special store have made it possible for us to usher in a new era for The Bookmark and Friends of the Oakland Public Library. Thank you, thank you!
