Volunteer

Volunteer at The Bookmark Bookstore

Due to COVID-19, our store is currently operating on a limited basis. As a result, we are not currently accepting volunteer applications. Please check back for updates, we appreciate your support!

Bookstore volunteers perform a variety of tasks during their three hour-per-week shifts: receiving, unpacking and pricing donations; shelving new books and culling old stock; keeping sections alphabetized; general store upkeep, and most importantly – ringing up sales.

Volunteer with OPL

Due to COVID-19, the libraries are currently closed. Please check back for volunteer opportunities after library locations have re-opened. For other volunteer opportunities in our community, please check with The City of Oakland and Volunteer Match.

Library volunteers assist staff in many ways, including tutoring adult literacy students, serving as computer docents, answering informational questions, reading to preschool children, etc. Volunteers should be at least 14 years old.
