September is shimmering at the Bookmark Bookstore, where we're hosting our next Monthly Member Sale on Saturday, September 19. Members receive 50% off on Saturday from 11AM-6PM; everyone receives 30% off on Sunday, September 20 from 11AM-5PM.

Purchases are limited to 100 items/day* per customer or party (no scanners). Our sale continues with Bulk Buyer Day on Monday, September 21. On BBD only, every month on the Monday after our Member sale, scanners are permitted and customers enjoy 30% off when spending $500 or more (pre-discount, no item limits).

Ready to unlock your year-round discount at the shop? Show your love for OPL by snagging a new or renewed Membership with the Friends of the Oakland Public Library! Members receive 20% off at the Bookmark all year, plus 50% off at our monthly Member sales (quantity limits apply). Shop local and support Oakland's libraries with every purchase!

This month, we're excited about our in-store Cosmic Shifts curation. September brings the seasonal turning point of the equinox, representing a powerful bridge of fated endings and fresh starts. Find your next personal pivot, alignment with the stars, or an actual book about the cosmos. Whether you're into constellations, contemplating a new look, or ready to go full woo-woo, we've got you covered with astrologically-inspired life hacks alongside actual science. A little something for everyone!

Speaking of turning points, don't miss Old Oakland's last Summer Stroll of the season on Friday, September 25, when the Bookmark will stay OPEN LATE until 7:30PM. Give our Rainbow Wheel a spin for a chance at a free tarot reading or item of your choice from our dollar racks and carts.

This fall, we're also excited about our in-store curation amplifying Latinx/e voices, as well as our Celebra Tu Herencia / Celebrate Your Heritage reading list on bookshop.org, where purchases support Oakland's public libraries when you choose the Bookmark as your indie bookstore. Page through our eclectic selection of poetry, memoir, fiction, and more.

And speaking of fall, we're gearing up with our in-store Fall Colors curation, featuring pumpkin spice and everything nice for your best September ever -- plus materials that are quite literally shades of red, orange, yellow, and brown. Kick off the cozy season with our wide array of upcycled treasures, uniquely linked by their autumnal vibe.

Have you visited the Bookmark for our Monthly Member Sale? Mark your calendars for our next recurring sale September 19-20 and every third weekend of the month thereafter. Members receive 50% off on Saturday, and everyone receives 30% off on Sunday.

Join or renew your Membership today, and spread the love with a gift membership!

Our next donation pause is September 18-19, ahead of our monthly sale.
