To make a gift through your will or living trust, specify “The Friends of the Oakland Public Library, Tax I.D. 94-2553734, located in Oakland, California.”

Naming the Friends as a beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of your retirement plan assets may be advantageous from a tax-planning perspective. The Friends of the Oakland Public Library is eligible to receive Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from an eligible Individual Retirement Account (IRA) that is owned by an individual who is age 70 ½ or over. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
