Membership Levels

Annual dues start at $25 for individuals, with special prices for full-time students and seniors.

  • Full-time Students: $15

  • Seniors (Age 65+): $15

  • Individual Level: $25

  • BookFriend Levels: $50+

Become a Member of the Friends of the OPL and enjoy these benefits:

  • 20% discount at The Bookmark Bookstore all year and up to 50% discounts during our semi-annual sales!  Until November 2022, Members get a 30% discount every day.

  • Off the Shelf, the Friends’ quarterly newsletter

  • The Oakland Public Library’s Annual Report announcement

  • Members who join at the $50 or more level also receive discounts at participating Oakland bookstores: Bibliomania, Montclair Book Tree, Pegasus Books, Spectator Books, and Walden Pond
