At the July 12, 2004 meeting, the FOPL board of directors approved grants to the Oakland Public Library of $57,451 for Fiscal Year 2004-2005. Since last year, the library's financial picture has improved due to the generosity of Oakland voters who passed Measure Q, reauthorizing the library parcel tax. Measure Q provides for, among other things, a substantial increase in funds for collections - books, CDs, videos, etc. As a result, the library's annual wish list includes needed funds to "spruce up" displays and seating areas. FOPL's goal is to enhance library services in our community. As you review the list below, we hope you will agree that your support helps your neighbors in Oakland, Emeryville and Piedmont take advantage of a wide array of services and enjoy their library experiences more.
